IMMIGRATION EMERGENCY Threatens
CHICO Activist Filmmaker Gerard Ungerman

A large FUNDRAISER party is scheduled at the Chico's Women's Club
on Sunday January 23rd beginning at 5:00 pm
with many local artists, music, food, drink, etc...

Urgent Message From and About Gerard Ungerman:

This message contains updates, and my partner Stacey and I thank you immensely if you can circulate it.

I would have liked to wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR under better circumstances. Many already know that I am having a major immigration ordeal that started last July when I was refused by the U.S. Consulate in Paris an Immigrant Visa that had been approved for me by Homeland Security. I now face a 10-year bar from re-entering the U.S., while my beloved partner Stacey fights on her side in Chico to have me come home.

From there it just gets worse: An application we filed to waive that denial was just rejected on Dec. 13th, and now we need to mount a full legal counter attack. We have recently retained legal counsel, and will be re-filing for a waiver of the denial. The entire situation is like a nightmare we can't seem to wake up from. Our attorney believes that our case is approvable, but we won't make it without the help of our many friends who know my documentary and community organizing work and are SO graciously supporting me.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP:

•   Thank you very much if you can pass this message around.

•   We need donations to help defray the massive legal expenses we are now facing. The retainer fee alone is $10,000. Donations in any amount are very much appreciated. See my website at

www.FreeWillProd.com

•   We also may need affidavits and/or letters of support. We will know more about this once we form a more focused strategy with our attorney.

•   Plan to attend a community-based fundraiser to be held on Sunday, January 23rd, beginning at 5 PM. This family-friendly event will feature great music, food, drinks, and silent auction items.

Again, we thank everyone in our beloved community for all the love and support we have received thus far. Even in the midst of such worry, we feel incredibly blessed. Stacey or I would be glad to send you more information about my situation if you would like. Or please follow the link to read an article published in the Chico News and Review for the week of December 23rd. http://www.newsreview.com/chico/content?oid=1894337

Thank you so much for any help you can give. Again, we would like to wish you and your families a Happy New Year.

With gratitude,
Gerard Ungerman and Stacey Wear

DIRE IMMIGRATION EMERGENCY Threatens CHICO Activist Filmmaker GERARD UNGERMAN.

Community activist / documentary filmmaker Gerard Ungerman
with his partner Stacey in Paris.

DENIED... from coming home to the loves of my life:

the sweet and bright beauty who lavishes love and happiness on me; my adoptive family that's been nothing but kindness and generosity; a community that's caring, beautiful and hospitable; many, many friends who are kind-hearted, loyal, creative, hard-working, respectful and, each in their own ways, committed to contributing to making our world a better place, one act of kindness at a time; a country that is being built, by many at least, with the hope that a better society is possible through dedicated efforts, a spirit of pioneering and a profound sense of respect for humanity and the natural world we live in. - GERARD

DESPERATE CALL FOR HELP:

Peace & Environmental activist filmmaker may be barred from coming home to his family and his community-oriented work.

After almost 20 years of lawful presence in the U.S., French-born, Chico resident Gerard Ungerman, maker of

•   www.GreenTransitionChico.org
•   "HIDDEN WARS OF DESERT STORM"
•   "THE OIL FACTOR: Behind the War on Terror"
•   "PLAN COLOMBIA: Cashing-In on the Drug War Failure"
•   "BELONGING"
•   "PERU: Between the Hammer & the Anvil"
•   and more...

was barred from re-entering the United States on Dec. 13, 2010 even though an IMMIGRANT VISA had previously been approved for him.

He has until the end of January to challenge the decision or he will lose the right to come back to his home, family, friends and country.

Legal representation in his case will cost in excess of $10,000.

This is a back-breaking amount for him and his family.

GERARD DESPERATELY NEEDS YOUR HELP !

A FACEBOOK support group has already been created at:

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_140929955961957

and a campaign of fundraising was started towards the massive legal fees that he would be hard-pressed to meet on his own. You can find his PLEA 4 HELP and respond on his homepage at www.FreeWillProd.com

A large FUNDRAISER party is also scheduled at the Chico's Women's Club on Sunday January 23rd with many local artists.

THANK YOU IMMENSELY FOR YOUR INVALUABLE HELP.

It will make the difference between his HAPPY & PRODUCTIVE RETURN HOME TO CHICO CALIFORNIA

... or his life and that of his loved ones being CRUSHED AND RUINED for no objectively valid reason.
