Become A Better Filmmaker at the
    CiAO Monthly Meeting for July

Skipping the July 4 holiday weekend —
Meeting Friday the 8th at 6:30 pm

Due to the July 4 holiday, we will be meeting the second and fourth Fridays of July this month. This works out well because this is one of the months where there are five Fridays.

The film submission period for the First Annual 2011 Show Us Your Shorts! Film Festival has now passed and the response was very good, in quantity and quality. Set aside the weekend of August 11 thru 13 (Thurs. – Sat.) for attendance. Check out the website for more information. www.ShowUsYourShorts.org

Summer/Fall Local Productions Information:

• Production on James Smith's latest indie short film, Ralphie II (a sequel to Ralphie), is going very well. (2 days down, several to go)

• Production on Joshua Siegel's indie short film, "A Midsummer Nightmare: The Betrayal", has wrapped and he is now in post-production.

• There will be at least one more local short film production this year. (Shawn Dyer's Fly)

• Joe Batt is planning on making more Spot On Movie Reviews By Amazing People. (contact Joe if you are interested in doing one or helping out)

• And possibly two short advertising commercials / infomercials / webmercials for a local business.

• We have no further information on the Pelican House Production that is ostensibly in principal photography in the Chico (/Gridley) area.

If you are planning something, please let us know.

CiAO meetings are (usually) the first and third Fridays of each month. The meeting location is (usually) the Not Quite Hollywood Studio, 120 W. 2nd. St., Chico, CA 95927, between Main and Broadway. Phone: (530) 343-6741 See map (click to see larger version), which also shows parking locations. (thanks to Shawn and James for letting us use this location)
