2 Days Later CiAO Film Project Starts Now!

Concept/Story/Ideas Meeting is Wednesday, September 1 at 7:00 pm

Note: Last Chance for Actors to Get 'Guaranteed' Role

We are officially starting Pre-Production on the Team CiAO 2 Days Later UK Horror Film Contest entry. (no film name yet) Wednesday night will be an approximately 3-hour brainstorming session to come up with a concept and story and ideas for the film. Please arrive between 6:30 and 6:45 so we can start promptly at 7:00. (location: NQH office)

Only those interested in being on the Creative Team and working on the script and the creative challenge of coming up with a concept, story and ideas for the film need to be there. We will create a rough draft of the story and plot, which will then be taken by the writers, who will probably be Lane Mullin and Popeye Theophilus Barrnumb as the Primary Writers. After the 'first draft' is finished, those who are part of the Creative Team will be able to read the script and give notes. (of the 48 hours total, we have allotted approx. 4 hours for scriptwriting — ~ 8 hours total combined for this process and phase)

Actors

This is the last chance for actors to show up and be 'guaranteed' a role in the film. There will be an attempt to write the story around these actors. Other actors who may also be needed will be gathered later, although, because of the nature of the film, 'secondary actors' will need to be kept to a minimum, so there may not be other roles. (except, perhaps, and most-likely, background actors ("extras")) If you can't come to this meeting, you can send an e-mail stating your interest and intent. (this will be accepted as a near-'contract' of availability and involvement, although we will contact you with as many specifics as we can first)

Last Meeting Recap

At the last meeting, after more discussions, decisions were firmed up as to who would perform what roles in the making of the film. We have a Primary Producer and two Co- or Associate Producers, two Primary Scriptwriters, a Primary Director and a few Assistant Directors, and a Primary Editor and one or more Asst. Editors. Most of the other roles, like Lighting and Sound have been filled, and various other helpers who will be Production Assistants (PA's) and/or Grips. (a few of these people are "beginners" who just want to be there to watch and learn and soak up knowledge and gain experience — they are most welcome)

We do not have a Primary Director of Photography / Cinematographer, or a Camera Person, but do have some Asst. DP's. We have not quite decided on what camera to use. That partly depends on who the Primary DP and/or Camera Operator is. We would like to make the film HD, but may have to go SD Widescreen 16:9. (the UK entry has to be Pal 25fps DVD, so we will submit to them as a faux letterbox format, and still have a widescreen film to submit to other festivals and on DVD)
