Monthly Meeting Tonight — 6:00 pm

Special Literary Guest: C.C. Clingan

Barring any unforseen circumstances, we will have the fanzine publisher, poet, columnist, reviewer, and published author C.C. Clingan as a special guest at tonight's meeting. He is the publisher of the 1970's era fanzines The Diversifier, Paragon, and Dragonard. (a collection of the covers is shown in the montage image above)

He has had many short stories published in various fanazines and had two short stories published in hardcover American and Australian anthologies: High Bank in Future Pastimes and Goldenlight and Fleetwood in Alien Worlds. (respectively) He was also the founder and creator of the now-defunct S.P.W.A.O., the Small Press Writers and Artists Organization.

We will dedicate a portion of the meeting to discuss the author's works, life and career, and the world of Small Press publishing prior to the advent of personal computers, desktop publishing, and the Internet. Clingan is currently retired, not actively writing, and lives in Paradise, CA.

The meeting location is the Not Quite Hollywood Studio, 120 W. 2nd. St., Chico, CA 95927, between Main and Broadway. Phone: (530) 343-6741 See map (click to see larger version), which also shows parking locations.
