CiAO Film Project is Nearing Production Phase

Production Meeting is Friday, September 10 at 7:00 pm

This notification is mostly directed at the Creative Team who attended the last two meetings. And the primary and secondary actors and production people. Or pretty much anyone who is interested and wants to attend and contribute. (and don't miss the notice for everyone below-bottom) We will try to keep the meeting to under two (2) hours. Please be prompt.

We will have a "first draft" of the script. The following link will be made active sometime Friday (probably morning) so that people can download and print the script. Please do so and bring it to the meeting. (we can't afford the cost of making a bunch of copies, especially when we don't really know how many copies to make) View this alert online HERE to perform your download in case more info is available.

2 Days Later CiAO Film Project Preliminary Script ~20K PDF file

The shooting schedule is still somewhat tentative, but we are shooting for (pun slightly intended) the weekend of September 17, 18, and 19, Friday evening through Sunday evening, as needed. This weekend, in general, is a hard schedule time. This will give us time for pre-production over the next week, and mailing of the film to Britain (probably via some speedy method) to get there by the deadline of September 29 at 5:00 pm. (BDT)

Wish List of Props, Services, and Other Items

We had two cracked baseball bats "donated" to us by a Chico Outlaws player. (to be named later and he will receive a listing under the Thank You section at the bottom of the film credits) We need the following items (at least, known at this point – this list may change) as props and other items for the film:

• a medium or large black cast iron cooking skillet
• a fake hand, arm, or leg that looks somewhat realistic
• a cow bell, in case we need more cow bell

If you have access to any of these items and can lend them to us for this production, please send us an e-mail at:

Support Local Independent Film, Filmmakers, and Filmmaking

We are looking into offering a financial interest in the film at $10 per point (percent). ROI is based on the monthly Net Gross income excluding all federal, state, county, and local (and other) taxes and Shipping and Handling fees. Short films rarely make money, but you never know. Most people would probably look at it as a type of donation, and personal support of (local) Indie Filmmaking as a "Patron of the Arts".

There are also "bragging rights", as well as a top credit in the film as an Executive Producer, or Co-Executive Producer, as a stand-alone credit, or a shared credit, depending on the amount invested. Contact us if you are interested. Minimum amount is $25 (shared Co-Executive Producer credit), up to $100+ (Executive Producer credit). There are a limited number of slots available.

This will help us pay for the items that always end up being needed, even for a nano-budget / "zero-budget" film. Ideally, we would like to at-the-very-least offer some snacks for the cast and crew during the production for their hours of hard volunteer work. (and anyone who knows and has been on an indie film set knows how much hard work it really is) A "self-catered" lunch would be a blessing. (at this point we are only able to offer bottled water, and maybe some chips — and "production value" might have to be trimmed here and there)
